Abstract
854,639. Binaural systems. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Sept. 19, 1957 [Sept. 25, 1956], No. 29224/56. Class 40 (4). The two in-phase channels of a system of the type described in Specification 394,325, feed the quadrature coils of a goniometer G1 to set up a magnetic field representative of the original sound field, the search coil 7 of the goniometer G1 being set in a particular direction to derive the component signal in that direction which is amplified or attenuated at 8 and fed back to the two channels by way of a second goniometer G2 which may have its search coil 11 set in a different direction from the first search coil 7 in order to produce a change in the apparent location of the corresponding sound source or sources.
