Abstract
854,178. Contacting a gas with a liquid. BLACK, SIVALLS & BRYSON Inc. April 8, 1957, No. 11404/57. Class 55 (2). Apparatus for contacting a gas with a dehydrating liquid comprises a tower with gas and liquid inlets and outlets and a series of bubble-cap trays each having a liquid downcomer 69, and pairs of plates 71, 72 with staggered perforations arranged below all trays except the bottom tray to remove dehydrating liquid entrained by the gas on the tray below. The downcomers 69 are surrounded at their upper ends by chimneys 65 with slots 67 and discharge at their lower ends into wells 66.
