Abstract

842,832. Magnetic reproducing apparatus. LOEWE, S. Dec. 6, 1958, No. 39393/58. Class 40 (2). In a sound record reproducing apparatus control elements are provided whereby the apparatus is stopped, delayed or reversed in response to the recording level falling below normal level, especially inclusive of gaps and pauses. The embodiment described relates to a dictationmachine having control means for restoring the drive after an automatic stopping has taken place following a pause in the sound reproduction. During normal reproduction the anode current of an output valve 1 energizes a relay 2 to close a pair of contacts 5, 7 and establish a current supply 9 to a prime mover 8. The bias conditions of valve 1 are so arranged that when the signal falls below a certain value the relay 2 drops out and drive is interrupted. Drive may be manually restored by operation of a button 13, or contacts 6, 14 may be arranged to close the circuit of a servomotor 15 which rotates a cam 18 to close intermittingly the circuit of prime mover 8 to slowly advance the record until normal drive is established by a normal signal arriving at the grid of valve 1.
