Abstract

840,860. Switch contacts. TUCHEL, U. Dec. 5, 1957 [Jan. 23, 1957], No. 37933/57. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XXXVI] A flexible contact comprises a metal strip bent to form a securing portion at one end from which a pair of parallel undulating arms extend, the end surfaces of the arms forming the contact surfaces. The arms 2, 2<SP>1</SP> are shaped as shown in Fig. 1, and may be slotted at 40, Fig. 1a, the co-operating contact being rigid and the relative movement between the contacts being in the direction of the plane of the end surfaces. Several flexible contacts may be arranged in flat or cylindrical insulating holders for cooperation with rigid contacts on flat or circular insulating members (Figs. 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, not shown), and the circular member may move axially of the cylinder or may have a helical movement therein. Two or more flexible elements may be telescoped one within the other, the elements being connected together (Fig. 6, not shown), or insulated from each other at 33, Fig. 7.
