848,197. Electrical treatment apparatus. ROSE, E. May, 27, 1959 [May 27, 1958], No. 18078/58. Class 81(2). The battery of an electrical applicator has a resistance connected in series with it, the value of which, in ohms, is equal to 1000 times the voltage of the battery. In one form the battery 7 is enclosed in a metal case 1, the open end of which is closed by a insulating plug 2 carrying a metal applicator 4. The latter is connected to one terminal 8 of the battery by a spring 6. The other terminal 9 of the battery engages with one end of a resistor 11, the other end of which makes contact with the bottom 13 of the case. In use, the applicator 4 is covered by a piece of moistened sponge rubber 5 or the like. In another embodiment the applicator is held at the end of a hollow, insulating stem mounted on the battery casing, and the resistor is connected in a lead. from the battery to the applicator.
