Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0848130/IV(b)/1> wherein R represents an alkyl radical containing at least 4 carbon atoms; a benzyl radical substituted by halogen (s); a phenyl radical substituted by an alkyl radical or alkyl radicals containing a total of at least 2 carbon atoms, by halogen(s) and/or by alkoxy, amino acylamino or di-alkylamino groups, or a pyridyl or pyrimidyl radical, optionally substituted by halogen and/or by alkyl radicals and the preparation thereof by (a) condensing a compound of the general formula: <FORM:0848130/IV(b)/2> wherein X and Y represent halogen atoms which may be the same or different, with a primary amine R, NH2; (b) the intramolecular condensation of a compound of the general formula: <FORM:0848130/IV(b)/3> preferably either by heat or by treatment with aqueous alkalis or pyridine; (c) disproportionation of compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0848130/IV(b)/4> by treatment with an alkali; or (d) reaction of 1 : 2 : 3-benzodithiole-3-one with amines of the formula R,NH2. The compounds of the invention may also be prepared by reduction of the correspondingly substituted o-carbamylbenzene sulphonic acids or derivatives thereof for example, acid halides and esters thereof, with, for example, a metal reducing agent in an acid medium.
