Abstract

845,169. Mowing machines, treating turf. NASH, H. R. Feb. 16, 1959 [Aug. 29, 1958], No. 27788/58. Classes 6(1) and 6(3). A mower comprising pivotally mounted blades 8 rotatable about a vertical axis, is provided with prong-like members 18 attached to the end of the blades for removing moss and weeds from lawns. The blades are enclosed by a hood 4 in which is mounted a motor 5. Rollers 11 are mounted on arms 10 adjusted by means of a screw 14 or hand lever 23 to vary the height of cut of the blades. The handlever 23 acts through a Bowden cable 25 to actuate a lever 26 connected to a fork 13 pivotally attached to the arms 10. Wheels 12 for transport purposes are removably attached to the roller shaft.
