832,119. Automatic circuit-breakers. I-T-E CIRCUIT BREAKER CO. Nov. 7, 1957 [Dec. 28, 1956], No. 34781/57. Class 38 (5). In a multi phase automatic circuit-breaker in which in each phase a bimetallic element 14A and the connection 31 ... 33 between the element and a current-limiting device form a current-carrying loop, a body 40 of magnetic material is provided within the loop to balance the magnetic forces acting on the loop and so prevent permanent distortion of the bimetallic element due to the action of short-circuit currents. The Complete Specification describes the application of the invention in a circuit-breaker having a tripping arrangement similar to that described in Specification 783,366. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 783,366.
