Abstract

The deposition of ash on ports of gas turbines is reduced by adding to the fuel oil a carbonaceous material which will produce particles of carbon in the gas stream entering the turbine. The oil may be one containing vanadium compounds. The carbonaceous material may be graphite or powdered coal. Magnesium compounds may also be added to the oil.
