Paper bags B are stripped from their mandrels 11 and transferred to conveyer receptacles 16, during the continuous movement of conveyers 10, 15, by compressed air coming from ducts 12<SP>1</SP> 12<SP>11</SP> supplied by a travelling air jet formed by the alignment of a stationary longitudinal slot 3 with a helical slot 5 formed in a tube 4 which is rotated in sympathy with the advance of the conveyers. The commencement of the stripping operation is assitsed by one or more flexible rotary discs 14, 14<SP>1</SP> extending at an angle to the transporting path.
