Abstract

835,868. Welding by fusion. INTERNATIONAL COMBUSTION (HOLDINGS) Ltd. Sept. 1, 1958, No. 28079/58. Class 83 (4). A branch member 1 is secured in an aperture in a wall 2 of a vessel by forming bevels 5 on both edges of the aperture, forming circumferential grooves 10 in the branch member 1 spaced apart a distance equal to the separation of the inner edges 6 of the bevels 5, inserting the branch member 1 in the aperture so that the bevels 5 and grooves 10 form two continuous troughs and building up a weld in each of the troughs.
