Abstract
822,635. Fishing rod rests. WILSON, N. B. Dec. 9, 1957 [Dec. 7, 1956], No. 37484/56. Class 48. [Also in Groups XIV and XXV] A rod rest includes a tripod and at least one fork support 8, the ends of the tripod legs being provided with loops which are held by a common pivot bolt 10 which also carries the support 8. The loops 5 on the outer tripod legs 4 are elongated and curved in the planes of the loops; the centre leg 6 has two spaced circular loops 7 ; and the fork support 8 has a double loop. In assembly the double loop of the fork support is located between the spaced loops 7 of the centre leg 6 and an elongated loop 5 of an outer leg 4 is located on the outer side of each spaced loop 7. The bolt 8 passes through the loops and has a wing-nut 11. The loops 5 curve away from each other so that the splay of the outer legs 4 can be varied by altering the position of the bolt in the loops. The legs of the tripod may be telescopic. The centre leg 6 may be longer than the outer legs 4. A second fork support 12 is carried by an arm 13 held in a clip 14 adjustable along the centre leg 6. The arm 13 may be pivoted to the clip and may be telescopic.
