828,775. Gramophone records. DYNAMIT AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT VORM. A., NOBEL & CO. July 30, 1958 [Sept. 27, 1957] No. 24576/58. Class 40 (2). A process for the production of a gramophone record comprises mixing polymeric vinyl chloride, or one or more copolymers thereof, and additives cold, pressing the resulting mixture in the cold into a tablet, and then pressing the tablet at an elevated temperature between matrices to form a gramophone record. Two examples of compositions are given. In the first example polyvinyl chloride powder is mixed in a ball mill with 2% lamp black, 2% pulverous lead stearate, and 20% pulverous root resin and pressed on a known tablet-forming machine after which they are preheated to 140‹ C. and then pressed between matrices for 1 minute at a temperature of 160‹ C. In the second example 80 parts of vinyl chloride and 20 parts of vinyl acetate are formed in an emulsion and stirred in a polymerization vessel in addition to emulsifying agents, dyestuff, 2 parts of phenyl urea and 2 parts of sodium stearate and tablets then prepared as in the first example.
