813,101. Electric radiant heater. HI-RO HEATING CORPORATION. July 27, 1955 [Aug. 4, 1954], No. 21690/55. Class 39(3) [Also in Groups XII and XIII] In a heating system in which a gaseous fluid, e.g. air, carbon dioxide, or steam, is circulated in a closed circuit at a high speed through a horizontal conduit with a heat-radiating lower wall 255 and a heatinsulated upper wall 256 (see Group XIII), and is heated by contact with a heat source, the heat source is an electric heater comprising a corrugated sheet 250 welded to distributing bars 251 supported by bus bars 252, 253 having insulating mountings 254. The device may be mounted in a ceiling, and the long infrared rays emitted may be used in drying thin or porous material, in softening thermoplastic sheets or in curing resins in paper.
