Abstract

816,880. Illuminating pictures. CHAPMAN & CO (ADGLOW) Ltd., H. J. July 12, 1957 [July 13, 1956], No. 21656/56. Class 11 [Also in Group XVIII] A box for illuminating pictures 12 or signs has sides 2 provided with slots 9 having forwardly directed louvres 10, and an outwardly directed surface 11 is provided in the box exterior for trapping light escaping from the louvres 10. A bulb is provided on a base 5 and a strut 16 is provided for holding the device at various inclinations. The picture 12 is held against the front surface of the box by a frame 15, three sides of which are channelled and slide over the surface 11, a frictional grip being obtained by providing the surface 11 with a rearward inclination. For illuminating signs a flasher device may be incorporated. Specification 732,920 [Group XXVI] is referred to.
