Abstract
816,760. Motor vehicle hydraulic driving gear; tractor power take-off mechanism. ALLGAIER-WERKE G.m.b.H. April 11, 1957, No. 11896/57. Class 79(2) In a transmission system of agricultural tractors and like vehicles, the vehicle's back axle and a power takeoff shaft 16 are driven through separate hydrostatic torque converters 7 and 8 so arranged that the shaft 16 may be either driven separately or coupled by means of a clutch 18 and gearing 11-12-17 with the converter 7 that drives the axle. Engine torque from a shaft 3 is transmitted through gearing 4-5-6 to the converters 7 and 8 that are infinitely variable and are regulated by levers 9 and 10. Torque from the converter 7 is delivered through pinions 11 and 12 and a bevel pinion 13 to a crown wheel 14 on the vehicle's axle. Torque from the converter 8 is delivered to the take-off shaft 16, which may, at will, be connected by the dog-clutch to the converter 7. When the shaft 16 is coupled to the converter 7 the converter 8 may be set to zero torque, or alternatively, the levers 8 and 9 may be connected so as to synchronize the output of the two converters. A second power take-off shaft 20 may be coupled directly to the converter 7.
