814,907. Crankshafts; securing bearing races to shafts. RANSOMES, SIMS & JEFFERIES Ltd., and JARVIS, J. S. Nov. 8, 1957 [Nov. 8, 1956], No. 34224/56. Class 80 (2). A crank 2 of a threshing machine has a sealed bearing 1 side clamped thereon by split collars 6 secured on either side of the bearing. The collars 6 seat in grooves 5 in the crank-pin which has a land 3, for the inner race of the sealed ball bearing 1, and shoulders 4 which serve as abutments for the split collars 6 when clamped axially by screws in tapped holes 9. The split collars 6 are held together by spring rings 7 secured by set screws 8. The outer race of the bearing 1 may be clamped in a pedestal block which is bolted rigidly, or through rubber insertions, to the shaker.
