Abstract
A liquid fuel composition contains an organo-titanium compound having a carbon-titanium bond, the titanium also being bonded to 1 to 3 halide and/or alkoxy groups. The liquid fuel may be a petroleum hydrocarbon fuel and may contain 1 part of the titanium compound to between 100 and 10,000 parts of fuel by weight. The titanium compound may be an aryl-titanium trialkylate, such as phenyltitanium triisopropylate, a dicyclopentadienyltitanium dihalide, a cyclopentadienyltitanium trihalide or a dicyclopentadienyltitanium dialkylate. In examples, dicyclopentadienyltitanium dichloride and dibutoxy monocyclopentadienyltitanium chloride are added to kerosene.
