Abstract
Uranium is cleaned prior to electroplating (see Group XXXVI) or coating by dipping, by treatment in a 30-40 per cent aqueous solution (by weight) of HCl and the resultant coating is then dissolved by a 40-50 per cent aqueous solution (by weight) of HNO3. The metal may be pretreated in HNO3 before the above treatment. The process is preferably performed at 25-35 DEG C.
