Abstract

759,383. Ear ornaments. BROHAN, M. K. Nov. 9, 1954 [Nov. 24, 1953], No. 32605/53. Class 43. An ornament for pierced ears comprises a headed pin 1 which is passed through the hole in the pierced lobe to bring the head 3 into close proximity to the surface of the lobe, and a keeper 5 slidably mounted on the end of the pin behind the lobe to retain the pin in position. The keeper 5 consists of a metal strip with a central hole to engage the shank of the pin, and inwardly curved ends 7 which bear resiliently upon the shank. Ornaments such as an apertured disc 10, a pendant 11, or an imitation flower with a central aperture, may be carried upon the shank of the pin 1, between the head thereof and the surface of the ear. The pin, which may be made of gold, has a rounded end and may be used in place of the sleeper ring which is normally inserted through the hole in a pierced ear immediately after the piercing operation.
