758,430. Electroplating. MACLEAN, W. D. Nov. 18, 1954, No. 33442/54. Class 41. An electroplating apparatus comprises a tank 1 having a pot 3 for electrolyte mounted at each end, and a removable rack 9 with means for mounting workpieces 22 with a conductor 33 fixed at each end of the rack, each conductor 33 being received in the appropriate pot 3 when the rack 9 is in operative position in the tank 1. Each conductor 33 is suspended from a portion 32 of an electrode bar 14 bolted at 12 through insulation 13 to a channel member 10 which, with an interconnecting beam 11 and the opposite member 10, forms the rack 9. The bolts 12 further secure plates 15, 16 to the member 10, rods 23 threaded in the plate 15 and bolts 30 secured to the plate 16 receiving hooks 27 which hook into the workpieces 22. The side edges of the plate 16 carrying the bolts 30 are notched to form resilient lateral fingers, and the rods 23 are adjustable in the plate 15. The pots 3 are disposed in bus-bars 5 on the end walls 6 of the tank 1. Anodes 2 lie along each side of the tank 1, and additional anodes 37 may be suspended from a bar 35 attached to the beam 11.
