Abstract
Plastic compositions for making wall-plugs (see Group XXV) are, in parts by weight:- (1) 33 crude gypsum, 3 aluminium silicate, 4 volcanic trass, 60 asbestos fibres, 1 water soluble urea formaldehyde condensate, 42 water. (2) 40 crude gypsum, 8 blast furnace slag, 2 brick dust, 30 cotton waste impregnated with bitumen, 20 asbestos fibres, 0.5 crystallized soda, 1 Seignette's salt, 40 water. (3) 62.5 crude gypsum, 10 asbestos fibres, 8 cotton waste, 4 volcanic tuff, 1 sodium cellulose glycolate, 1.5 sodium citrate, 40 water. (4) 48 crude gypsum, 5 asbestos fibres, 5 perlon waste, 5 waterproofed wood fibres, 6 aluminium silicate, 1.5 Seignette's salt, 3 volcanic tuff, 32 water. The composition is moulded to form plugs and heated to between 110 DEG -140 DEG C. to drive off the water of crystallization of the gypsum which becomes plaster of Paris and binds the composition.
