720,237. Sink &c. stoppers. SHANKS & CO., Ltd. Aug. 26, 1953. [Sept. 26, 1952] No. 24140/52. Class 26. A waste plug P for a lavatory basin or sink has a shank A with at least one pivoted pawl C, so that the shank may be inserted through the opening of a waste unit grating and the pawl or pawls permitted to pivot to the position shown, where they prevent detachment of the plug from the waste unit. A groove D may be made in the shank to engage the grating and retain the plug in a raised position, and more than one shank may be provided, for use with gratings with no central hole.'
