Abstract
729,736. Deodorizing air. SUTCLIFFE SPEAKMAN & CO., Ltd., and EDWARDS, W. E. Oct. 26,1951 [Jan. 6, 1951], No. 472/51. Class 137. [Also in Group VI] Apparatus (Fig. 2) for installation in association with food storage spaces comprises a closed casing 1 having in its upper part a suction fan 2 driven by an electric motor 5 mounted outside the casing and having in its lower part a removable, flat container 36 which is filled with activated carbon and is disposed vertically across inlets 18 for lateral flow of air drawn from the storage space by the fan. The side walls of the container 3b are fine wire screens over which are screens of expanded metal. The air after passage through the carbon is directed laterally by a baffle 9 to pass in streamline flow to the fan 2 and is forced outwardly from the fan through an outlet 22 back into the storage space.
