Abstract

726,756. Container closures. VALTL, R. Aug. 10, 1953 [Aug. 13, 1952], No. 22064/53. Class 125 (3). A closure for collapsible tubes &c. has a screw cap 2 of elastic material resistant to acetone and benzene, containing a support member 4 with cylindrical socket 12 on which slides a valve member 16 with conical tip 17 and at its lower end a flange 13, the valve member engaging with a sharp edged rim 10 to close orifice 7 in the cap under the pressure of a spring 15. The closure is stated to be effective with sticky or granular material as the sharp edge 10 scrapes the valve stem clean. In a modification, the tip of the valve member is cylindrical.
