703,751. Belt fastenings. BRITISH ROPES, Ltd., and ELKINGTON. R. June 4, 1951 [June 2, 1950], No. 13853/50: Class 80 (1) The ends of a belt 10, such as a conveyer belt, having longitudinal re-inforcing wires, cords or cables 11 embedded therein are joined by means of eye-lugs 13, having shank positions 12 into which the ends of the re-inforcing members 11 are secured as by swaging 14, 'connected by means of a flexible hinge pin 15 with screwed ends for securing nuts 17. The shanks 12 may have each a single socket for receiving a single reinforcing member or a plurality of sockets for receiving a group of reinforcing members. The joint may be covered by suitable material such as rubber and vulcanized.
