Abstract
In a thermionic cathode of the type comprising a metal core coated with electron-emissive material, the core is composed of an alloy consisting of, by weight, Ni 99.9-99.1 per cent., Zn 0.1-0.5 per cent., Al 0-0.15 per cent., Ti 0-0.25 per cent. The Ni used may contain the usual impurities present in commercially pure metal, e.g. Co up to about 0.5 per cent., Fe, Cu, Si, C, Mn, Mg and traces of S up to about 0.5 per cent. in total. Specification 700,605 is referred to.
