Abstract
706,680. Footwear. LEVIN, A. May 27, 1952, No. 13442/52. Class 17(2) A laminated cushioned mid-sole or platform sole comprises a bottom ply 14 which is engaged by the upper face of the outer sole 10. A rib 15 with a bevelled face 16 is secured to the margin of the ply 14 and a resilient member 17 is secured to the ply 14 to project part way over the bevelled face 16 leaving a space 18 which permits the sponge or foam rubber member 17 to expand on compression by the foot. An upper cushion member 19 is secured to the upper side of the rib 15 and a fabric cover 20 is adhesively secured to the upper side of the member 19 and over the the upper face and side edges of the rib 15. The cushion sole may extend over the full length of the shoe or under the sole or shank and heel portions only.
