Abstract
699,418. Wave producers. LARRAS, J. A., and LAURENT, J. Jan 2 ; 1951 [Jan. 6, 1950], No. 192/51. Class 26 Apparatus for producing waves in a body of liquid has a rigid or flexible shutter 1 actuated by an adjustable linkage 2 and a battery of flexible curtains 6 which prevent the reflected wave from the end of the tank from interfering with the regularity of the system. The curtains 6 may be fixed at the and weighed by rods 11 at the bottom or they may hang free. Alternatively, the curtains may be secured at the bottoms and be buoyed up by floats. Jute canvas may be used for the curtains or flexible rods may be substituted. Pebbles 12 absorb the back wave.
