695,035. Lipstick holders. ROTHSCHILD, A. G. DE, ROTHSCHILD, E. L. DE, and ROTHSCHILDS CONTINUATION, Ltd., [trading as ROTHSCHILD & SONS, N. M.]. Nov. 26, 1951 [Dec. 4, 1950], No. 29650/50. Class 18 In a screw feed type lipstick holder, the upper ends of the axial and helical slots are open and coincide when the stick is in its fully projected position, whereby the cup may be removed or replaced. In one embodiment, the helical slot 11 terminates in an axial length 24 which, when engaged by the pin 21 of the cup 20, limits further relative rotation between the slotted tubes. In another form (not shown) a pin near the base of the axially slotted tube is engaged by a shoulder on the other tube to ensure coincidence of the slot ends when the stick is fully projected. In a further embodiment, the axial slot 6 terminates in a narrow portion 25 acting to prevent further projection of the stick in normal use, but the pin 21 may be forced into this portion by additional twisting of the tubes, which also brings the end of the slot 11 into line with the slot 6. An outwardly extending bridge 27 reinforces the helically slotted tube. The cup may have a hole 28 for the insertion of a pin, or be knurled, to assist its withdrawal from the stick.
