Abstract
686,812. Jewellery. RAND, S. D. Sept. 25, 1951 [Dec 21, 1950], No. 31181/50. Class 43. [Also in Group XV] An ornamental device which may be applied to a powder compact, cigarette case or lighter or, as shown, may be used as a fob for attachment to a key chain, is made to simulate the dial of an automatic telephone and, as shown, comprises a back plate 8 bearing around an arc of a circle two different sets of letters and numerals, one set normally being visible through holes 6 in a front plate 5 which is rotatable about the centre of the said are and is urged by a spiral spring 16, Fig. 4 (not shown), to bring one member 13 of two stop members on the front plate 5 against a fixed abutment 15 carried by the back plate 8, and the other set being exposed by rotating the front plate against the spring-action to bring the other stop 14 against the abutment 15. The set normally seen through the holes 6 comprises the numerals 1 to 8, while the other set comprises letters which form a name or a slogan &c.
