Abstract

679,600. Louvre windows. GISSING PTY., Ltd., F. W. Feb. 21, 1951 [March 6, 1950], No. 4253/51. Class 137 In a window comprising louvre shutters 13 mounted in channel members 12 rotatably mounted on a mullion 10, a weatherexcluding flap 16 for bridging the gap between the channel members and the mullion when the shutters are closed is hinged on a vertical axis to the mullion. The flap has a saw-tooth edge to seat under the channel members 12 when closed. On opening the louvres the inside of the flap is first engaged by the bottom of the channel members; as the flap opens the saw edge is engaged by the sides of the louvres. The flap is spring-biassed, Fig. 5; to closed position.
