Abstract
659,676. Fertilizer spreaders. BESWICK'S LIME WORKS, Ltd., and BESWICK, P. J. Aug. 8, 1949, No. 20629. [Class 6(i)] Fertilizer is fed from a wheeled container 10 along a conveyer belt 7, and after passing through the adjustable gate 17 falls on to oppositely rotating pocketed wheels 20 from which it is projected to each side of the machine. The conveyer-belt 7 is driven from the tractor power take-off shaft 1 through belt 3, shaft 2, worm 4 and wheel 6. The wheels 20 are driven from the shaft 2 through gearing and an overrunning clutch 14 in the gear-box 13. The walls 21 of the wheel-pockets are adjustably hinged to the side flanges; the tips 21A of the walls project in the direction of rotation. Hood and screens restrict the area of distribution; the multi-part hood being foldable from a winch 30.
