Abstract

625,723. Roller skates. WAGNER, F. J. Aug. 8, 1947, No. 21948. [Class 132 (i)] [Also in Group XXXIV] A roller skate wheel bearing comprises a tread portion 1 with a force fitted sleeve 6 secured against rotation by a fluted portion 5. The sleeve 6 has an inwardly extending radial flange 7 against which the outer race 12 of a ball bearing is clamped by an annular shoulder 21 of a nut 20 screwed to the sleeve 6. The outer race 15 of a second ball bearing is axially free on the other side of the flange 7. The inner races 11, 14 of the bearings are separated by a spacer 25 and are clamped by a nut 26 through a spacer 18 to the hub 19 of an axle 17. Closure of the outer part of the bearing assembly is effected by a nut 29 and a ring 31.
