603,581. Pedestal stands. FOUNTAIN, Ltd., G. R., NOEL, G. E., and OSBORN, B. T. March 19, 1945, No. 7313. Divided out of 603,580. [Class 52(iii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A clamping ring 17 screwed to the outer member 1 of a telescopic pedestal tightens a split ring 16 of fibre or like material upon the inner tubular member 5, the ring 16 being prevented from rotating by a peg 20 or like device. The lower ends of the tubes 1, 5 may be closed to provide an air cushioning action, the split-ring permitting restricted air leakage, and additional escape holes and a non-return valve may be provided as in Specification 603,580.
