Abstract

600,439. Removing dust &c. DALLOW, LAMBERT, & CO., Ltd., and FANTON, E.J. Nov. 30, 1945, No. 32360. [Classes 8 (ii) and 99 (i)] In an apparatus for removing dust, gases, fumes &c. a hood or nozzle is adjustably attached to a two-part telescopic tubular arm A which is connected to a two-part telescopic upright pipe B by means of knuckle joint 2, 3 pivotally connected at I through lugs 4 and 5 by the bolt 6 to permit angular movement of the arm A relative to the pipe B. The tele-. scoping components 2, 3 of the knuckle joint are of rectangular cross section the depth X being somewhere less than the diameter of the arm A to compensate for the different cross sectional area and maintain a uniform flow of air. The telescoping parts of the tubular arms A, B may be set in their adjusted position by clamping rings tightened by locking screws.
