605,378. Electric heating. COSSOR, Ltd., A. C., and JONES, K. I. Dec. 20, 1945. No. 34593. [Class 39(iii)] A thermostatically - controlled electric heater element 1 is shunted by an indicator device 3, and a thermostatically - operated switch 2 is shunted by a similar indicator 4. The indicators in the particular embodiment are neon lamps, each in series with a high resistance 5 and 6 respectively. When the switch 2 is closed, the heater 1 is energised and the lamp 3, which is green, lights up. On the switch 2 opening, the greater part of the mains voltage falls across lamp 4, which is red, so lighting it up. The heater 1 is virtually de-energised and lamp 3 is extinguished.
