Abstract
584,697. Push graders. LETOURNEAU, Inc., R. G. Oct. 17, 1944, No. 20090. Convention date, Nov. 26, 1943. [Class 107] [Also in Group XXI] In a combination of a tractor having a pair of spaced wheels. with a push grader, the push grader has a vertically adjustable blade disposed ahead of the tractor and is connected by a pair of transversely spaced push beams to a support between the wheels. As shown, a tractor 1, having a transmission housing 2 mounted between a pair of wheels 3 and a forwardly projecting engine on a mount 4, has a push grader 21 mounted on transversely spaced push beams 23 which are pivotally attached to a forward face 25 of the transmission housing and may be convengent. The grader is vertically adjustable by a cable 33 and a winch 31. To prevent the forward tilting of the tractor a trailing implement 12 is coupled to the rear of the tractor in inflexible vertical, but steerable horizontal, relation. The trailing implement carries a scraper blade 12 and apron 18 which are independently raised and lowered by cables 19, 20. The tilt of the grader blade may be altered by hand cranks 29.
