Abstract

561,575. Battery lamps. LANCHESTER, G. H., and STERLING ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Dec. 18, 1942, No. 18034. [Class 39 (ii)] An electric torch enclosed. entirely in a rubber casing 1 and having a screwed based plug 1a. which completes the lamp circuit by axial movement communicated to the battery 3, comprises a conducting cradle 9 for the battery furnishing a contact ring 10 which co-operates with a switch member 11 to enable the lamp to be flashed. The plug may be operated to give a continuous light by bringing the ring 10 into continuous contact with the switch member, or to prevent switch member from making contact with the ring. A cavity in the rubber wall accommodates the switch member. A spare lamp may be carried in a magazine 8 in the plug. Specification 533,011 is referred to.
