561,125. Wrenches. GASCOIGNE, G. H., and KNOX, J. R. Dec. 4, 1942, No. 17279. [Class 61 (iii)] A spanner or screwdriver comprises a handle A terminating in a boss A<1> having free ratchet teeth A<2> engaging teeth B<3> on a flange B<1> of a spindle B passing through a hole in the boss and itself having a polygonal &c. hole in which fits a key C adapted to engage socketed screws, a spring D being interposed between the boss and a flange B<2> at the other end of the spindle to keep the teeth in engagement. Ratchet teeth may be provided on both faces of the boss and the spring D dispensed with.
