[Class 3 (i)] A non-endless display band carrying destination indications has means whereby it can be brought to the correct indication without direct inspection. The rollers N are geared at M to a vertical spindle h, the lower part of which is screw-threaded. On the screw rides a nut J fitted with a projecting pin P which moves up and down a slot O which prevents the nut J from rotating. Two pointer-carrying blocks f, f are slidable each on a vertical rod e, e, and can 'be positioned by handles c, c so that pins L projecting horizontally from the blocks f, f can be brought into the path of the pin P to limit the travel of the latter in the up or down direction when the spindle h is turned by a handle d, and thus locate the display band. Each handle c, c has a side projection g which can enter one of a plurality of slots arranged one above the other, each slot corresponding to a destination on a column displayed to the operator and indicated by a pointer fixed to the block f. Thus, by turning one of the handles c, the projection can be removed from its slot, the handle being then axially movable till the now upstanding pointer comes opposite any required indication, when the handle is turned back through about 90 degrees, locking the projection g in the requisite slot and bringing the pin L into the path of the pin P and the pointer back into the plane of the display column. The other handle c is operated for the return journey.
