Abstract

566,679. Electric cable supports. CRABTREE & CO., Ltd., J. A., HARRISON, B. G., and HILL, W. E. Nov. 19, 1943, No. 19372. [Class 36] An electric cable support consists of a flexible encircling covering formed from a tube and having spaces or interruptions. The covering may consist of a polyvinyl chloride tube having one or more helical cuts a, Fig. 2, the tube being then extended to provide spaces, Fig. 8, for condensation exits or for the introduction or detachment of the conductors d. The incisions may be grouped so as to leave continuous uncut portions f at vulnerable locations. The tube may have equally spaced and alternating cuts or incisions e, Fig. 4, which may terminate in circular enlargements el to lessen the risk of tearing the tube on extension. The helical band may be of segmental crosssection, and extended whilst subjected to heat. The terminal uncut portions or a pinched part of the tube may be provided with eyelets g<1> for the passage of nails or other supports.
