Abstract

556,139. Cleaning shoes. WARING, J. - June 16, 1942, No. 8224. [Class 138 (i)] A combined container and footrest for shoecleaning equipment comprises a box-like container 5 to which is pivoted a top 6, which, when opened to the position shown, acts as a footrest and is secured by a strut 8 acted upon by a spring which causes a stop piece 11 and ear 12 to engage a frame member 10 and hold the rest 6 in operative position. The raising of the top 6 causes pivoted containers 14 for containing 'brushes and polishing cloths to be opened out to the position shown in Fig. 4 by the action of link mechanism 19, 18, 22, and a box 23 can be pivoted about a hinge 24 at the top of the member 6 and its lid 26 then opened to allow of access,to tins of polish &c.
