Abstract

536,637. Snap-action switches. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. June 10, 1940, No. 10076. Convention date, June 9, 1939. [Class 38 (v)] A snap-action device comprises a flat blade spring 10 bent so as to form two portions 10a, 10b, one of which, 10b, rests by its edges on a hollow support 14, so that when pressure is applied along the centre line of the strip 10b, e.g. by means of a push button 18, it becomes concave and eventually causes the whole strip to straighten out with a snap-action, the portion 10a moving down into the dotted position shown. In the form shown this movement causes a contact 21 to move away from a contact 22. When pressure is removed from the button 18 the parts resume their original position.
