[Classes 82 (ii) and 117] In the separation and cleaning of granular materials as described in the parent Specification in which perforated cylinders are used, materials are fed by a shoot 5 into the channel 4 as described in that Specification and also from a shoot 5a into the interior of one or both cylinders 1, a valve 5b in the shoot 5a diverting the supply to the cylinders 1 as required. The cylinders are contained in a housing 8, material from the channel 4 passing to a shoot 7 and that from the end of the cylinders 1 to a shoot 6.
