529,836. Closures for bottles and like. JONES, G. E. May 26, 1939, No. 9248/40. Divided out of 529,280. [Class 125 (iii)] A closure for a bottle B or like consists of a stopper S and a cap C; the latter has a head 2 and a cylindrical skirt 3 of relatively rigid but deformable material such as thin metal. A beading 4 on the neck serves as an abutment for the end of the skirt, and a zone of the skirt is crimped into the groove 1 on the neck. A tapered protuberance 5 extends across the groove. To remove the cap, it is rotated so that the protuberance 5 presses out the crimped zone of the skirt after which the cap can be lifted off. The cap can therefore be removed and replaced as required, while an indication is given of removal from the original anchored position.
