Abstract

525,736. Moistening air. PARR, G. W., and AUSTEN, Ltd., C. Feb. 27, 1939, No. 6454. [Class 55 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIX] Apparatus for producing a cloud-like suspension of liquid comprises a conical-tube 27 open at both ends and having at its lower end an atomizer 17 and spaced away from its upper end a concave deflector 29. The apparatus may be enclosed in a case 10 containing a chamber 13 for the liquid, in the bottom of which is fixed a tube 16 supplied with compressed air from a reservoir 35 supplied by an electric pump 34. A dip tube 18 supported by the tube 16 carries a jet tube 17 immediately over the air plant. An electrically driven fan 37 supplies air through a passage 40 to the tube 27 where it mixes with spray from the atomizer, and also delivers air by a hood 42 to mix with the air and mist delivered through the passage. 31 in a cap 32. Large drops of water fall from the reflector 29 and are returned to the tank 13 through an opening 33. Specifications 237,992, [Class 55 (ii)], 465,357 and 487,704, are referred to.
