Abstract

517,699. Disc mills. TALBOT, J. J. A. Aug. 5, 1938, No. 23191. [Class 59] [Also in Group VIII] A disc mill for fibrous material has fixed and rotary grinding surfaces 14, 15 with inverted V-ribs tangental to a circle of less diameter than that of the inner edges of the grinding faces to facilitate passage of material which is blown through the grinding zone. The discs clearance is adjusted by studs 21. The rotary disc is driven by a worm 27. The material is drawn through the mill by a fan drawing a current of air through the discharge pipe 31.
