Abstract
506,601. Inductances. ELLISON, Ltd., G., and ANDERSON, J. Jan., 21, 1938, No. 2022. - [Class 38 (ii)] A polyphase reactor comprises three concentric windings a mounted in planes mutually at right-angles. The windings may be mounted on an insulating support b slotted.to accommodate the windings and carrying the terminals c. Instead of the support b, three iron rings may be used, these also forming cores for the coils. Each ring is in halves to permit of assembly. The rings may be formed by coiling from iron tape, the ring thus formed being cut in two. To prevent circulating currents, gaps are left between the ends of the valves and insulation may be inserted in these gaps. The rings may also be insulated from each other.
