506,012. Unit air heaters for automobiles. DAVIS, R. E. Nov. 22, 1937, No. 32070., (Class 137] An electric motor A fitted on the engine side of the dash B drives through a flexible shaft G<4> a fan G which drains air from the body of the automobile and passes it through a waterheated radiator E from which it issues through openings H<3>, H<2>. These direct the air over the interior of the windscreen, and into the body respectively. The motor A and the casing D of the fan and heater unit are secured to the dash by rubber mountings B<5>, D<3> respectively. The washers B<5> have portions of smaller diameter spigoted into holes in flanges B<3> which are thus spaced from studs B<2>. F and F<1> are the flow and return pipes for the heating liquid. A wire gauze G<1> is provided. The radiator G may be heated by exhaust gases from the engine, or electrically.
